The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi, has promised to pursue the establishment of a railway connection linking Abuja with Karu, Keffi and Kokona if elected.
Ogazi, who currently represents Kokona East Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, made the pledge in Keffi during an empowerment programme for women from various wards in the area.
He called on residents of Karu, Keffi and Kokona to support his aspiration to represent the constituency at the National Assembly, promising to use the platform to attract greater federal presence and development to the area.
The lawmaker said his experience in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly had enabled him to serve as a voice for vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society.
According to him, one of his major priorities at the National Assembly would be to pursue projects and interventions that would increase federal presence in the constituency, which he said had been neglected in some areas over the years.
“A railway line from Abuja to Kokona is a necessity. It will open up the local governments and improve connectivity with the Federal Capital Territory,” Ogazi said.
He also pledged to use legislative representation to pursue development-oriented initiatives across the three local government areas.
“I am a replica of Daniel in the Bible. I will use my voice to speak for the people, and we will bring development to Karu, Keffi and Kokona. My people will see representation in terms of lawmaking,” he said.
Ogazi further promised to remain accessible to his constituents and ensure that the impact of his representation was felt across the federal constituency.
“I am going to make sure that the right thing is done. I will be that legislator who will ensure that the right thing is done. I will be accessible and available, and the impact of my representation shall be felt,” he said.
Appreciation to Stakeholders
The APC candidate also expressed appreciation to Distinguished Senator Ahmed Wadada for attending the empowerment programme, describing him as a believer in capital development.
Ogazi also urged residents of Nasarawa State to support Wadada’s political aspiration for the 2027 governorship election, saying he believed it would bring what he described as a “divine turnaround” to the state.
Women Empowerment
The empowerment programme, according to Ogazi, benefited hundreds of women across the constituency.
He said 575 women and 25 vulnerable women benefited from the empowerment exercise in Keffi, while 600 women benefited in Kokona, with beneficiaries also drawn from Karu.
He commended the women for what he described as their support for the APC at both the national and grassroots levels.
Ogazi explained that the financial support provided to the beneficiaries was intended to strengthen their small-scale businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The empowerment initiative forms part of the lawmaker’s broader campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections. Ogazi emerged as the APC candidate for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency following the party’s 2026 primary election.
