Abuja – The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has joined hands with the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) to strengthen unity, equality, and civic consciousness across Nigeria.

Dr Priscillia Gondoaluor, NOA’s North Central Zonal Director, led a delegation to the Council’s headquarters in Abuja, explaining that the collaboration would focus on promoting the National Values Charter, soon to be unveiled by President Bola Tinubu and integrated into school curricula nationwide.

“Women are pivotal in nurturing family values and fostering peaceful coexistence. Wherever a woman is, there is development. They anchor the moral strength of families and influence the next generation positively,” Dr Gondoaluor said. “NOA has developed a National Values Charter to reinforce unity, peace, equality, discipline, and accountability, and we intend to collaborate with the Council to spread these values widely.”

She added that the agency would ensure compulsory training for leaders on the charter’s principles upon their swearing-in and that at least 70 percent of children’s television content would reflect national values. “The values a nation upholds determine its level of development. We must guide our children positively,” she stressed.

Princess Edna Azura, President of NCWS, welcomed the initiative, praising NOA’s commitment to nation-building and pledging close cooperation to promote the charter’s principles across women’s groups in Nigeria. “This collaboration marks a significant step in advancing the role of women in shaping a cohesive and progressive nation,” she said.

The partnership reflects a broader effort to engage the public and harness advocacy campaigns for national integration, with women positioned as key agents in promoting social and civic values.
