GOVERNOR BALA MOHAMMED GIANT STRIDES ON SDGS IMPLEMENTATION

SDG-3 : Good Health and Well-Being

The dynamic administration of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad of Bauchi State stands out as a pace-setter in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the North East geo-political zone.

Governor  Bala Mohammed is passionate about the 17 global goals and therefore his administration has integrated the SDGs in to Bauchi State Development Plan.

The Governor  believes strongly that the global goals adopted by the United Nations on September 25, 2015 are in tandem with the Agenda of his administration.

He is optimistic that  this measure  will enable his administration improve the livelihoods, invest in healthcare and ensure access to life-saving services.

He also believes that the implementation of the SDGs will boost environmental sustainability as well as guarantee social cohesion and peace for its citizens.

The Governor is therefore,  leaving nothing to chance in his efforts to make a difference in the lives of his people through the holistic implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The administration has evidently demonstrated her unequivocal commitment in the adoption of the SDGs .

The first step taken by  Bauchi State government on it journey to sustainable development was to  prioritised the actualisation of the global goals through his reform Agenda. Secondly to appoint a competent, capacitated  and a focal person to direct the affairs of the the agency.

SDGs: Bauchi  State score card on health sector

Before the inception of Governor Bala Mohammed  administration on May 29, 2019,  the immediate past administration of Bauchi State under a  failed leadership of  M.A Abubakar have not done enough  to   implement the set goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well  as to uplift the status of human development in the state.

A review of the sectoral performances of Bauchi State SDGs under the former governor was abysmal failure.

Records available indicated  that the former Chief Executive officer, M.A. Abubakar archived absolutely nothing in terms of  alleviating poverty, improving healthcare delivery and to enhance quality education among global goals of SDGs   in the state.

Therefore, based on  Governor Bala Mohammed  desire to promote good governance and  healthcare delivery, which is  the core of his administration’s health sector policy, to repositioned some primary healthcare center for accelerated technological growth.

To ensure that the unfinished business of SDGs under the watch of his predecessor  is concluded with the SDGs.

Governor Bala Mohammed  decided to put in place a committed officer  to carry out the works that would enhance good  lives and quality of living of his people.

Under the able leadership of Dr. Esther Ahmed,  Bauchi State SDGs has so far executed unprecedented number projects in the area of  health sector as follows:
