FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC NEKEDE PRODUCED ELECTRIC CAR AND OTHERS
Federal Polytechnic Nekede near Owerri, Imo State have produced first of its kind Electric Car amongst comity of Universities and Polytechnics in Nigeria which was
exhibited and showcased at the Technology and Innovation Expo 2022, Abuja Nigeria.
Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede Engr. Dr. Michael Chidibere Arimanwa made this disclosure at the Eagle Square Abuja, venue of the Science and Technology Expo in an interview with newsmen, he said apart from the electric car, his institution produced and came with other nobel things such as Rice free stone machine, Cassava dewatery machine, Coconut breaking machine etc.
On the Cassava dewatery machine, he said within 5minutes the Cassava is ready for frying.
The Rector who is an Anglican Priest said at such Expo on Science and Technology, He expect the federal and state government to intensify efforts to ensure that all these equipments are mass produced for export to the international market.
“In addition the ones meant for rapid industrialization should be channeled towards that area”.
He said the federal government should reach out to good Nigerians hence they tried their best to design and produce the Electric Car, wholly sponsored by TetFund.
“So far we intensified advertisement on the Television, Channels Television and other means of Mass media to tell the world what we have produced as an institution”.
The Rector said the Electric Car has no engine, it is a noiseless car, it is charged during the day with solar panel, while at night with electricity, it has a high speed rate.
