FEDERAL AGENCY TO BUILD LABORATORY FOR DRUGS PRODUCTION IN NASARAWA STATE.
In its bid to change the economy direction of Nigeria to enable the country to be self reliance, the Director General and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Board for Technology Incubation Agency Engr. Dr. Mohammed Jibril has stated that the agency will guide the Nasarawa state government to build and strengthen a laboratory in the Nasarawa State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Keffi.
The Director General who gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen during the matriculation and graduation ceremony of the students of Nasarawa State College of Health, Sciences and Technology held at the college during the week in Keffi, stated that the efforts is to widen the scope of the students knowledge.
Dr. Jibril who assured that the laboratory project would soon takeoff at the college expressed his satisfaction with the remarkable achievements recorded by the authorities of the college through the magnanimous gesture of the Nasarawa state government.
” We are strengthening a laboratory in the institution. It will be done this month depending on the commitment of the Nasarawa state government so that it can establish a building for Drugs manufacturing, drugs like Paracetamol, Chloroquine and syrups of all kind can be produced and I am sure that the state governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule and the State Minister of our parent ministry Barr. Mohammed Abdullahi who is from this state will not say no to this upcoming project” Dr.Jibril stated.
According to him, Nasarawa State was more viable than most states from the Niger Delta if the state can improve on her God’s giving endearments.
He said,”We are trying to change the economy direction of the country by ensuring that there is a paradigm shift from resource based economy to knowledge based economy. We are trying to create a situation where all of us with our knowledge will start producing knowledge drive-in products and services that that are not only national competitive, but internationally competitive so that we can be exporting and to also enable us satisfy ourselves locally too”.
He further explained that the mandate of the agency was to also encourage especially the Nigerian youths to become productive, self reliance or self employed so that the country would be able to become an industrialized nation instead of importing what it can ordinary produce by itself locally.
Dr. Jibril stated that the agency which is under the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations is highly determined to change the narrative of the country in terms of marking Nigeria and particularly its teaming youths populations to become self reliant by building their capacities to be able to adjust themselves to the realities of the present days realities of the world.
He therefore advised the youths to key into the noble efforts of the agency with a view to make Nigeria a great and prosperous country especially that the country is abundantly blessed with potentialities, natural and human resources in every part of it.
The DG who was full of praises to both the minister and the minister of state for piloting the affairs of the ministry of Science,Technology and Innovations,attributed the remarkable success recorded to their patriotic efforts and assures of his complementary efforts towards the achievement of their mandates
